Face it, we live in a world that requires us to be prepared to deal with the day to day. God put us here and we need to function to the best of our ability. We need to trust Jesus with everything. That involves doing the best we can with the talents, gifts and means that He gives us, then trusting that He will do what He knows is best.

That being said, it is important to train and prepare and do what we can to be ready to handle whatever challenges or crisis may come our way. We are all hit with this. No one escapes every crisis. Some are bigger and more challenging than others.

The goal with this page of our site is to help you be better prepared in the case of a crisis. I am a big believer that just as we should always be prepared spiritually for a crisis by being in the state of grace, by having a regular prayer and sacramental life. I also believe that it is important that we are prepared on a natural level for a crisis. For example having shelter, food, water, medical and a way to protect yourselves and your loved ones, especially if things in society or in our world go sideways and all hell breaks loose.

There are many Christians that believe that these things are unnecessary and that to prepare in these ways is showing that we don't trust in God. If that were the case then there would be no reason to get up every morning and go to work. We would just trust that God would provide without us being part of His process. There are a number of other examples that could be given to explain this. The point is that we have a responsibility to not only care for our own lives in this world but we also have a duty to care for others. That takes a certain degree of training and preparing.
