If we decide we don’t need prayer, then we’re assuming the role
of, ‘I know more than God’, because prayer in itself is talking to God.
How can we get through one day without talking to the very
One who is sustaining the breath in our lungs, our heartbeat, and our life?
This concept that God is unnecessary is complete lunacy, deriving
from the mindset which tells us we are self-sufficient, and God is only a
commodity. It comes directly from Satan. Now people, often times, have been tricked into thinking that in order to pray, you need to light incense, sing Gregorian chant and process around the room with your arms raised to heaven. No. That is not the case. I mean, if you really wanted to pray like that I’m sure there’s no rule against it, but it’s not a MUST.
Prayer is talking to God, in whichever way you want to. It’s a direct conversation from your heart, going up to a Father who loves
you and wants the best for you.
There are different forms of prayer, such as the prayers you’ve
memorized from Sunday school, and the prayer I’m talking about here. Like at Mass, there are certain prayers which must be said and are excellent for the soul, but right now I’m talking about personal prayer, the deep stuff right between you and God in the dark of night, in the hard times of trial. This is where there is a disconnect for a lot of people. They can’t grasp it.
Many have never been told, or ever heard, that all you need to do
is talk to Him, either in your heart, or out loud when you’re alone, (or not alone... but some people might look at you funny. And depending on what you have to say to God... you might want to be alone).
The form of prayer I’m talking about is literally, talking. Just talk to God. Tell Him what’s bothering you, tell Him your fears, what you’re angry over or who you’re angry with. He is there for you. And no matter if He talks directly back to you or not, the bond is strengthened, and you WILL find more peace. I know this for a fact. I am not making this up!
We desperately need it in our world today. We need to go
back to the basic groundwork or foundation of stability... PRAYER. A
prayerful person will feel the promptings of God, and will allow God to lead them where they know He wants them to be. Not because we’re God’s slaves, but because we are His children, and we know he loves and wants only the best for us.
This last week on Friday, October 7, there was the National Rosary
Rally in Washington DC. 200-300 people showed up. In 1961 there was a Rosary Rally in Golden State Park California... over 500,000 people were there. (My dad just did a vlog on the rosary rally since he was there speaking for it, and I encourage you to watch and share the vlog! People need to be aware of what’s going on)
Look at where the world was then, and where it is now!!! How
can we not make the comparison! In
many ways things are worse now than they were then. There is no question. And this goes back to the main, underlying issue. This country does not pray enough. If we did we wouldn't be in the mess we are now.
Here’s the crazy thing though, it’s not too late to change!
IT’S NOT TOO LATE. It’s our choice. There is incredible hope
because we have an incredible God. He is always right there, ready,
waiting for us to choose Him, to take the deeper plunge in faith, stepping out into the void to allow Him to totally transform our lives!
What are we doing about it?
Like and Comment! Signing off, God bless. Zac.
