I wish to ask them where they found the divine substance which made them so powerful, so all knowing, so enlightened, so that I too may partake of their heavenly privilege...
Why do people think that when they doubt their faith, they’re special? Like their doubts are validated because they’re “different”. Everybody doubts at one point or another. Leaving your faith to be “free” because it’s too restricting, isn’t an original idea, it’s been there since the beginning.
This whole mindset that my generation has, where the faith is only useful to them when they feel like it is, or they only apply it when it benefits them, it infuriates me because I’m watching my peers give their hearts over to evil. This society we live in, where having as much fun as possible, or throwing away everything but your career is what’s validating, where wrong is right and right is wrong, it’s empty and broken beyond measure.
To throw away our faith to plunge ourselves into the world unprotected is suicide. Discounting 2,000 years of church teaching, 2,000 years of the most amazing intellectuals and scholars because you’re an “enlightened” teen or young adult is where the madness truly lies.
It takes guts to throw away the truth, but we only have the guts because we have no idea of what will come after death. That’s just the truth.
Alright, so with that, keep the faith! Stay strong always, and know that the devil is always waiting to get a foot in the door. Don’t leave it cracked!
God bless you and please keep me in your prayers as I do you. Zac.
