We seem to think that because something hasn’t happened in many years that means it can never happen again, at least, not to us, right?
These past couple months a lot of people have lost everything, even their lives, to things which many thought would never happen to them.
From hurricanes, mass tragedies, fires, all these things have struck hard and fast. Many people though, they still believe that nothing like that could ever happen to them.
We have it set in our minds that somehow we are protected from anything bad that could happen, or at least those things which seem impossible. That is because our minds are trained to think a certain way. The way which does it’s best to push all our worries aside, to think that nothing out of the ordinary could ever happen.
We’ve grown this way because in the society we live in, with one phone call, or at the tap of a button, most problems can be solved. We as a people have grown a little lazy (or a lot, take your pick)
We need to retrain our minds. We have to be able to see when things are changing.
This whole weeks theme has been more on preparing in case of any kind of disaster. So today I’m telling you all that not only do our bodies need to be prepared, but also our minds. Our minds have to be ready in case of disaster or tragedy, because if we can’t handle something and snap interiorly, then any physical preparation we went through is useless, and those who are counting on us to be there for them are now without our help and protection.
How do you train the mind? To start we have to start paying attention to the signs of the times, what could come due to the signs, and also how we need to respond if they do. So the first step is to be Aware of what’s going on.
When you are aware of something you can then prepare for whatever it is, and thus be ready for when it comes.
It’s that simple, at least on paper. Be aware of something, then you can respond accordingly. Simple but hard.
Yeah, I know, there are only some situations you can prepare for as much as possible, but then when you’re actually in them, then you see the truth of what you’d do.
Some way of preparation is better than none though, right?
I encourage you all to look at our world, where it’s crumbling, where it’s not and pray about how God want’s you to prepare to help others. Simple, right? But hard. Because when you know what you’re supposed to do, you need to act on it.
God bless. Zac.
