A common issue though is when we close our souls off from the graces God has ready to give us. Now we can do this in many ways, but one way we do it is in cutting the soul off from God’s mercy by not forgiving ourselves.
People focus so much on what they did wrong and they think that it was so wrong God cannot forgive them. In thinking they're doing something strangely justified, in not giving themselves mercy, they are actually doing something unjustified. God’s mercy is justified, He’s God. He is justified in doing anything.
Telling God He cannot forgive you is as crazy a thing as claiming you’re God.
So, today’s message is short. If you’re struggling with the thought that God cannot forgive you, know that those thoughts, those doubts, they are not coming from God. They are coming from Satan, they are his efforts to keep you away from God, the sacrament of Confession which washes ALL sin away.
And if you have already confessed your sin, and still the guilt and pain is there, know that is not God, but Satan. And although it’s hard, moving on with the spiritual battle is necessary. Paramount.
We need every soul we can get in this fight, don’t take yourself off the spiritual battlefield of your own accord due to your self-doubt. God is liberating.
God bless you all. Zac.
