If you’re holding out on God, for whatever reason - guilt, fear, anger, suffering - don’t. God is waiting for you and is eager to wrap you in His loving embrace, eager to give you the strength you need to stay afloat in the storm, eager to show His never ending mercy!
No one can comprehend the depths of God’s mercy. It is said that if all the sin in the world was gathered together and dropped into the mercy of God, it would be like a drop of rain falling into the ocean!
Do not doubt God’s mercy. If you do doubt, know that doubt is Satan’s attempts to keep you away from God, and his wonderful sacraments.
If you haven't been to confession in a while, make this Lent the turning point in you life. It’s time to throw the hot coals of doubt back on Satan’s head and step into the infinite love and mercy your God has for you.
Be strong. Trust.
I know it’s hard, and I wouldn’t be urging you to do anything I haven’t done. It’s really hard. But remember this if nothing else: God is waiting to give you the strength, all you have to do is step out in faith.
Step into His mercy. Let this Lent be the end of the fear and self-doubt. Claim the birthright our merciful Father has given us and behave like a child of the almighty God. The same God who crushed the enemies of his trusting people of old. The same God who was born into this world for us. And the same God who was brutally killed for our sins, to redeem us.
Trust His mercy.
