TESTIMONIES - Battle ready summer training camp 2013:
Dear Camp Gargano,
Reese had a great time at camp, and has talked a lot about it. He has his brothers all wanting to be able to go, also.
We hope if there are future Battle Ready Camps, Reese will be able to return, and would be glad to send our other boys
when age appropriate. But most importantly, we can see Reese heard some quality talks about his Catholic faith, and
where he seems to have listened and learned from what he heard.
There are very few events that we would be willing to drive 6 hours (one-way :) and leave one of our children in the hands
of people we've never met, in a place where we've never been to, and where we have no contact with him for 6 days.
However, we were very comfortable doing this with the Battle Ready camp, and it never crossed our mind that this would
be anything but a great experience for him. We were not disappointed.

"The camp was everything we hoped it would be and my boys loved it. I will fax you a letter one of my boys wrote to me which will show you the impression the camp left on him.
There has been a lot of testosterone flowing around here the last few days and my challenge is finding ways to funnel this into helpful things around the house. The boys have been doing the workout video, pull-ups, and even built a zip line(creative).
I really want to thank all of you for your hard work...... From registration, dealing with our food allergies, motivation, filming, inspiring leadership, and your overall vision for things true, good and holy. Seeing your whole family involved is truly a beautiful thing!
We really look forward to next year-in fact... If there is something sooner in the works we'll definitely be on board. We would love Camp Gargano to succeed and multiply. We have been telling everyone we know about it and hope to bring a whole van load next time. And I'm staying next time! :-)"
God bless you all,
"I just checked out the pictures and the video. Very cool. It is because of cool stuff like this that I wish I were a guy sometimes. Then again, I wish I could do a pushup and I am a far cry from that. So I am glad of the next best thing: having my nephew get the awesome opportunity to attend Battle Ready Camp and having a great experience.
A sincere thank you to all of you who made this experience possible."
Hi Doug and all of the amazing staff at Camp Gargano:
Thanks so much for sponsoring such a great summer camp for all of those young men. John Paul had a great time and God willing will be back next year with some friends and/or cousins. Thank you for all that you do to keep the Faith going strong.
We will be keeping your apostolate in our prayers.

Thanks for the photos and links. I was really anxious to hear of Matt's experiences. On one hand, he had a very God-filled experience and could not stop talking about the talks and topics. On a lighter note, he thought the food was gourmet--no surprise considering boy scout or other camps. His first comment was, "Apparently they don't have kleenex in Nebraska." (My son with allergies.) This was a fabulous experience. He said that he could not describe it as "fun", but it was great--hard work and challenging. He loves a challenge and he soaks in the faith when presented well. I personally love the whole idea of building Men for Christ.
Thank you so much and God bless you and your ministry.
The pictures are fantastic! Personally, I wouldn't have run the camp any different than the way it was done. The squad leaders, as Doug pointed out, were helpful too in moving the squads around and keeping them organized. It was a blast for me! You guys are doing an awesome job on your end; keep it up!
