the power of one man
I have been fortunate to be the co-host of EWTN's Life On The Rock for a little more than 5 years now. We have had many different guests on the show who have dedicated their lives to working specifically in the Pro-Life area of the battlefield.
I have made it a point to ask many of them this question; "What percentage of abortions would not happen if a man, somewhere in the life of the pregnant woman; father, brother, husband, uncle, etc., were to stand up and really fight for her and the life of the child?'
The answer I hear back has ranged from at least 50% to as high as 75%. Most women who seek out an abortion feel lost, abandoned and alone. Often times it is a man in the life of the woman who drives her to the abortion clinic or pressures, even threatens her. When we men strive to be what we are created by God to be, then lives can be saved and the dignity of a woman is raised up and protected.
We are all flawed. We all suffer the weakness of original sin and the attacks of the world, the flesh and the devil, which is why we MUST take the spiritual battle seriously and embrace the weapons of prayer, sacraments and the sacred scriptures, to be close to God and drive away the enemy.
Do not be discouraged or lose hope. This is what the devil wants. When we fall we need to drag our sorry souls into the confessional and let the mercy of God heal and strengthen us to get back in the fight. While we have a heart that beats may we have that fighting spirit in our veins!
God bless and strengthen you.
Never Doubt The Importance Of Your Leadership As A Man!
When the mother is the spiritual leader of the family, the percentage of children who continue to live out and practice their Christian faith when they become adults is around 35%. When the father is the spiritual leader of the family that number is greater than 90%!
What are you, as a man, passing on to the generations to come? Is it love of the world or love of God? Is it trust in man or trust in God?
LEAD AS IF NATIONS DEPENDED ON YOU!
Blessed John Paul II told us that the family is the vital cell of society. As the family goes, so goes society. This has never proven to be more true than now. The erosion we see in society starts with the erosion in each family. You can add to that equation that as the leadership in the family goes, so goes the family.
It is true that one of the factors of a great leader is that those who are being lead will follow with respect and humility. The devil not only wants to destroy the leaders but also those who are given to the department of following the leader. If you have a prideful wife or children for example, who will not follow the spiritual leadership of the husband/father, when he is being faithful to God and the Church, then what kind of true peace and strength in the family do you really think you're going to have? Selfish pride is an ugly thing no matter what side it is on.
Why Should I Worry About Evangelizing?
If you pay any attention at all to Catholic media you will often hear about the New Evangelization. What is it? Read the words of John Paul II: "where entire groups of the baptized have lost a living sense of the faith, or even no longer consider themselves members of the Church, and live a life far removed from Christ and His gospel. In this case what is needed is a 'new evangelization' or a 're-evangelization." The next question we might ask is, "Why should I care?" To answer that question simply we should remember that evangelizing, which means to preach the gospel, is an essential part of the mission that Christ calls us all to. The consequence of not knowing the gospel and of following it can mean eternal damnation. We evangelize for the sake of the salvation of our souls and the souls of others.
Noah got drunk -- David committed adultery and arranged a murder --
Jonah ran from his duty -- Paul was a murderer -- Thomas doubted --
Peter had an anger problem -- Jeremiah wanted to give up --
Jonah complained -- Before Pentecost, the Apostles were gripped by fear.
What's Your Battle?

There is no fight that God will not strengthen us for. CALL ON HIM!
