The overall reason is to serve God, but we can branch off of this.
Vocation. What better reason to be healthy than to fulfill our vocations? Be it a husband, wife, father, or mother. The priesthood.
Fulfill your duties. This could be for work, or any personal goal you have that you are striving to achieve.
Health. Hey, your family and loved ones want you around for a while, so take care of yourself!
Protecting those in your care. Although this would be rare, granted, it’s still a duty to uphold, especially with physical violence getting worse in our world today.
There are a few of the reasons to take care of ourselves, and there are more, of course, but that would be a very long list.
Alright, here are the exercises.
- Run half a mile
- 3 sets of 10 push-ups
- 3 sets of 10 sit-ups
Now if you are at the level where this would not be hard enough for you, you can bump it up a notch by doubling or tripling the numbers shown here.
Remember, ‘3 sets’ just mean 3 times. So you’ll be doing, say, 10 push-ups, rest, 10 push-ups, rest, 10 push-ups. But then, within those rests of doing your push-ups, you can do your sit-ups, so that you’re alternating your push-ups and sit-ups until you’ve doing both three times.
