Now, look at your soul. Do you think you’ve kept it strong? Do you know where you may be weakening it? Is it pure? Broken?
I want you to think of it like this. The Second Sorrowful Mystery of the Rosary, ‘Jesus is Scourged at the Pillar’. You’re the soldier who is standing there, Jesus bound to the pillar, and every time you sin you wield that whip high, the bits of bone, hooks, and shards of metal flashing in the sunlight, and you bring it down across Jesus back, ripping chunks of skin with away, revealing bone.
Yet. Jesus looks at you with love, He smiles extends His bound hands to you, offering you everything you could ever need. You raise the whip again, and again, and again.
This is sin. This is what we do when we sin. We scourge Jesus, we spit in His face, we mock and beat Him.
What, tell me what is ever worth this? What could we possibly gain which would be better than God Himself?! The world lies to us, telling us the soul is fake, a fictitious fairy tale to make superstitious people obey some rules.
The Devil has to spread these lies because if he lets us know how much God can work within our souls we would be a massive destructive force to his kingdom. He would be letting great spiritual warriors loose in the world, and he can’t have that.
What we need to realize is that the more we let God into our souls, the more we become a threat to the Satan, and the more he tries to get in the way. Once we realize this, we are better able to traverse the field, because we know there will be retaliation. Keep the faith and stay strong!
God bless. Zac.
