Are you battle ready?
We have a spiritual fight on our hands and the consequences of not throwing ourselves 100% into this fight are devastating, ...in this world and in the next.
The mission of BATTLE READY is to encourage and strengthen the fighting spirit in all Christians, especially in men! When we men are faithful to, and live out our God-given duties as protectors, defenders and leaders, in imitation of Christ, then great things happen on many levels. When a man strives to be the spiritual warrior God has called him to be then families, parishes and entire societies benefit in powerful ways.
The great dragon was hurled down, that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
- Revelation 12:9 -
This is spiritual combat. Every single human being is part of it. No one can escape it. Even if you don't believe it exists, that doesn't change the reality of it. You or I believing or not believing in something doesn't make it true or not true.
What did you do today to fight for your soul
and the souls of those you love?
The devil does not sleep. He has been observing mankind for thousands of years. His attacks/temptations come in different ways and with different intensity. Our souls and the souls of those that we love are always targets for the attacks and snares of the devil. The best weapons that we have to fight against the temptations of the world, the flesh and the devil are those that we have been given by God. Prayer, Sacraments, Fasting, Sacred Scripture, Sacramentals and more should be an integral part of our daily lives. Use these powerful weapons everyday to fight for your soul and for those you love or who have been given to your care.
IF YOU DOUBT THAT LIFE IS A BATTLE THEN YOU NEED TO READ THIS
"The whole of man's history has been the story of dour combat with the powers of evil, stretching, so our Lord tells us, from the very dawn of history until the last day."
- Catechism of the Catholic Church, 409 -
a real action hero
Follow the lead of this great man.
St. Joseph was as BATTLE READY as
it gets. He has been given many titles. Guardian of the Redeemer - Guardian of the Mother of the Redeemer - Pillar of Families - to name a few. One title that really emphasizes the nature and position he has been given is Conqueror of hell. He was fearless in his obedience to God. He dedicated his life to defending TRUTH Himself.
are we insulting god?
To recoil before an enemy, or to keep silence when from all sides such clamors are raised against truth... such mode of behaving is base and is insulting to God...This kind of conduct is profitable only to the enemies of the faith, for nothing emboldens the wicked so greatly as the lack of courage on the part of the good... Christians are, moreover, born for combat."
- Pope Leo XIII, ‘Christians As Citizens’ -
Many things are under extreme attack in our world today. We cannot afford to be silent. The spiritual battle that rages around us often times manifests itself in physical ways. Abortion, contraception, the attacks on marriage, divorce, addictions, etc. are just some of the major fronts where the fight is most intense. We must be aware of the seriousness of this fight, prepare for it and engage in it.
first school to
Most every man imagines, at some time in his life, that he is a great warrior. He sees himself as the hero that has both the courage and the ability to take on the darkest of enemies and defeat them all. There is a reason why God puts this on a man's heart. When it is ordered to God then that man can be a hero beyond his own imagination. When it is disordered then that man can become a destroyer of those things that are holy, good and noble.
